this is really funny, and sad. it's a fitting commentary on the church in America. If you watch it, ask yourself how this can change, and what the church is supposed to look like.

the Hill's "reason" for absconding from their original church is quite a bit more asinine than the experiences that would follow shortly thereafter (made to seem so by the unruly situation of Jungian American comedy). the TRAM was clever though (the problem could be that every church doesn't already have one of those;) i like the line, "i just want to go to a 'decent, normal' church" and "me, i don;t go to church, church goes with me". both of those statments hinge on vain narcisism. for instance, the family makes several poor decisions about visiting different kinds of churches--one of which was shallow the other held in a language barriar for them. then they attended the "mega-church", which becomes the televated solution proves at least to the viewer that it's corrupted by hi-def services and luxuriant, stadium seating. the answer, simply, wherever you go; whoever you are--sek a place where you can worship the Bible-revealed Christ with others of like mind and desire to be used by Him...
